Community of the Holy Spirit
Episcopalian convent (who knew?) close to Columbia University. Homey, small
rooms with shared baths. Meals included if you're present at meal time, and the
food is good! If you stay a week or more, the sisters will do your laundry at no
charge. Men are welcome to stay and they have often had opera singers; however,
this is a retreat house and they observe silence, so though there is a lovely
room with grand piano ... no warming up. You get your own key but there is a
curfew. I've stayed many times and really enjoyed it.
